Your data stays yours. Pomodoro Pro is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information. All your data remains on your device.
1. Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Pomodoro Pro stores the following information locally in Chrome's secure storage:
- Timer Settings: Your configured work duration, break duration, long break settings, and preferences
- Session History: Records of your Pomodoro sessions including start time, end time, duration, and associated ticket IDs
- Integration Configurations: API tokens, base URLs, and settings for project management tools you choose to connect (YouTrack, GitHub, etc.)
- Statistics: Calculated metrics like total sessions, completion rate, and time tracked
Important: All this data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's encrypted storage API. We do not have access to this data.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect

3. How We Use Your Information
The information stored locally is used solely for:
- Timer Functionality: Maintaining accurate timer state and countdown
- Settings Persistence: Remembering your preferences between sessions
- History & Analytics: Displaying your session history and productivity statistics
- Integration Sync: Logging time to project management tools you configure
4. Permissions Explained
Pomodoro Pro requires the following Chrome permissions:
Storage
Why: Save your settings, session history, and integration configurations locally on your device.
Privacy: All data stays on your device in Chrome's encrypted storage. We cannot access it.
Alarms
Why: Keep the Pomodoro timer running accurately in the background, even when the popup is closed.
Privacy: Only used for timer countdown and completion events. No data collection.
Notifications
Why: Display desktop alerts when Pomodoro sessions or breaks complete.
Privacy: Notifications are local-only and contain no personal data. Can be disabled in settings.
Host Permissions (Optional - Only When You Configure Integrations)
YouTrack, GitHub, Jira, Asana: Required to fetch your issues and log time entries.
When Used: Only when you explicitly configure an integration and enable it.
Privacy: Communication happens directly between your browser and the platform's API. We don't intercept or store this communication.
5. Third-Party Services
Pomodoro Pro can integrate with the following third-party services only if you choose to configure them:
- YouTrack (JetBrains) - For fetching issues and logging work items
- GitHub - For fetching issues/tasks and adding time tracking comments
- Jira (Atlassian) - Coming soon
- Asana - Coming soon
When you enable an integration:
- The extension communicates directly with the platform's API using your provided credentials
- All communication is encrypted (HTTPS only)
- We do not intercept, store, or process the data exchanged
- Each platform has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle your data
6. Data Security
We take data security seriously:
- Encrypted Storage: All API tokens and sensitive data are stored using Chrome's encrypted storage API
- HTTPS Only: All API communications with integrated platforms use secure HTTPS
- No External Servers: The extension does not connect to any servers we control
- Open Source: Our code is available for security audits and community review
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained locally on your device until you:
- Manually clear session history from the extension
- Remove integration configurations
- Uninstall the extension (removes all stored data)
8. Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: View all your settings and history within the extension
- Export: Session history can be exported (feature available in settings)
- Delete: Clear individual sessions or all history at any time
- Disable: Turn off integrations without deleting their configuration
- Remove: Uninstalling the extension deletes all stored data
9. Children's Privacy
Pomodoro Pro does not knowingly collect or store information from children under the age of 13. The extension is designed for general productivity use and does not target children specifically.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:
- New features or functionality
- Changes in privacy regulations
- Improvements to our privacy practices
